BRUNSWICK — The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference has updated statistics in girls varsity basketball.
Julia Champagne of Brunswick is the secondleading scorer in the conference with 19 points per game, just behind Messalonskee’s Sophie Holmes, who is averaging 21 points a game.
Champagne is 12th in rebounding (6.3), third in assists (4.9) and in a tie for 10th in free-throw percentage (70 percent). Dragons teammate Madeline Suhr is ninth in rebounding (7.4).
Mt. Ararat is well-represented. Sara Lamb and Nikki Bradstreet are tied for 14th in scoring at 9.6-per game. Allison Melcher sits fourth in rebounding (9.25), Bradstreet is 13th in assists per game (3) and 14th in 3- pointers made (8), while Lamb is third in treys (17).
As for team stats, Mt. Ararat is sixth in scoring average at 44 and ninth in scoring defense at 45, while Brunswick is fourth in scoring defense (38.1) and eighth in offensive output (44).
The Dragons are currently 4-4, while Mt. Ararat stands at 4-5. The teams play on Saturday in Topsham at 4:30 p.m.
