ALFRED — An Old Orchard Beach man and a Biddeford man were indicted on charges related to an alleged October assault and robbery of a Twin City Taxi driver.

The two men were indicted earlier this week at York County Superior Court.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but a determination that enough evidence exists to commence prosecution.

Travis Donahue, 42, of Old Orchard Beach, was indicted on two charges of robbery with intentional injury, two charges of violation of bail and two charges of assault.

Lance Palmer, 45, of Biddeford, was indicted on one charged of robbery with intentional injury and one charge of assault.

Saco police were contacted on Oct. 7 around 2 a.m. by a Twin City Taxi dispatcher by a driver who reported having been attacked by customers who also demanded money from him, according to police reports.

The two customers, later identified as Donahue and Palmer, had requested a ride from Old Orchard Beach to the Brookside Inn at 30 Ocean Park Road in Saco, according to police.

The driver was bleeding significantly from a large cut above his right eye and also sustained other injuries and was sent to the hospital, according to police. The driver said words were exchanged between him and the two male passengers over a female acquaintance, resulting in punches and kicks to his upper body and head when attempting to collect the $10 fare, according to police.

Palmer and Donahue allegedly demanded all the money the driver had on his possession, according to police. The two men allegedly fled the taxi and entered two different rooms of the motel, according to police.
