BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Parks and Recreation announced its Maine Recreation and Park Association and Maine Red Claws Hot Shot Contest winners on Thursday.
On Jan. 9th, local athletes competed for a title at the Brunswick Recreation Center. The competition consisted of five “hot spots” marked on the floor, with participants having three, one-minute rounds to score as many points possible.
Winners and runners-up will compete in Lisbon for the regional competition next Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. The winners and runners up from the regional competition will go on to compete in the State Championship in Portland at the Expo on Sunday, March 15.
In the 9-10 year-old division, Parker Bate took first for the boys with 93 points, while Logan Brown captured first for the girls with 85 points. Morgan Foster took the runner-up slot for the girls with 84 points.
For the 11-12 year-old division, Evan Kilfoil scored 71 points to take first, with Matthew Green draining 68 points for second.
In the final division (13- 15), Dawson Hebert scored 134 points for the lead in the boys category, with Charlotte MacMillan totaling 85 points for the girls.
