The Blizzard of 2015 did more than dump two feet of inconvenience on local residents. It also provided an opportunity for very kind people to assist their neighbors. All over, one could see generous individuals shoveling sidewalks, digging out cars and pushing them to get moving.
I was personally the beneficiary of such unaskedfor neighborliness. My deepest thanks go to Grace, who dug out my car and moved it so the plow could clear our community parking area, then restoring it to my usual parking space. I am also extremely grateful to Sheray, who shoveled out my long walkway. Imagine my surprise when I looked out and saw these two wonderful ladies working to make it easier for me to access my automobile and get to the store.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
