The Maine Department of Transportation is seeking public input regarding any and all types of transportation issues, and will conduct a series of public meetings throughout the state through April.
One set of meetings scheduled for the Mid-coast region will take place from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Wiscasset Community Center, located at 242 Gardiner Road in Wiscasset.
Input from the meetings will help MaineDOT understand the needs of the public and various stakeholders to help the Department formulate its Long-Range Transportation Needs Assessment. Meetings are subject to change. Please check this site on the MaineDOT Public Meeting website for the latest updates or changes. http://www.maine.gov/mdot/ publicmeetings/index.htm. Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Auxiliary aids will be provided upon advance request. For more information, please contact Scott Rollins, Assistant Director of Planning, at (207) 624-3300.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
