BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College senior Andrew Ward and junior Matt Cooper have been honored in All- NESCAC selections announced by the conference recently.

The duo earned Second Team All-Conference recognition for 2014-15. It is the first postseason award for Cooper and the second for Ward, who captured Second Team honors as a sophomore.

Playing primarily at the No. 4 position for the Polar Bears, Ward collected eight victories this season. He peaked at the end of the year, earning a pair of wins at the NESCAC Championship weekend and following it up with two wins at the CSA Team Nationals for Bowdoin.

Cooper played at No. 1 for Bowdoin this winter against some of the toughest competition in collegiate squash. He earned a total of six wins, including victories against highly-ranked players from Wesleyan and MIT. He also earned a win at CSA Team Nationals against Hobart.

In women’s squash, Bowdoin’s Alden Drake and sophomore Sarah Nelson earned Second Team nods in the NESCAC.

Nelson enjoyed a fantastic season playing at the No. 1 position for the Polar Bears. She earned eight wins on the season, including two wins at CSA Nationals for the Polar Bears, who finished as runners-up in the Walker Cup Division.

Drake also had a excellent campaign, finishing out her career with a seven-win season. Playing primarily at No. 4 for Bowdoin, she picked up a pair of victories during the NESCAC Championship weekend — including a 3-0 triumph in Bowdoin’s 5-4 win over Colby for seventh place in the league. She also picked up a victory in Bowdoin’s Walker Cup opener against Wesleyan.
