A propane gas truck flipped over about 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday at the roundabout on New Portland Road in Gorham, closing stretches of three roads.

State and Gorham police are at the scene, along with firefighters, who are standing by.

New Portland Road is expected to be closed several hours from the roundabout to Johnson Road in Gorham Village. Libby Avenue is closed from the roundabout to Main Street, and Brackett Road is closed from the roundabout to Longfellow Road.

State Trooper Chuck Ranger said at the scene that the truck was defective. He said something went wrong with the truck’s suspension and the rear axle detached. Ranger said there was no driver error.

Lettering on the truck identified it as belonging to Breggy. Ranger said no propane or hazardous material leaked from the truck.

Sgt. Dan Young of Gorham Police Department said the driver was not injured. Young said state police are investigating the incident.
