AUGUSTA — Angelica Boyle tallied five goals to lead the Brunswick High School girls lacrosse team to a 12-7 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Cony on Thursday.

The win is the first of the season for the Dragons (1-2) and the first for first-year coach Alex Sullivan.

Anna McMillan chipped in two goals for Brunswick, with netminder EmaLeigh Aschbrenner turning aside 10 shots.

Becca Coniff led Cony (0- 2) with four goals, while goaltender Lizzy Dennison made 15 saves.

The Dragons look to make it two wins in a row on Monday at home against Oxford Hills (4:30 p.m.)

The Eagles improved to 2- 0 with a KVAC victory at Gardiner.

Lauren Williams chipped in one each for Mt. Ararat, which hosts Lewiston on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Kelsi Thibeau and Kathryn Wright picked up two goals each for Gardiner, while Bryce Smith, Nickyia Lovely, Skye Lavoie and Evelyn Hinkley added one tally apiece.

Eleanor Skinner had 11 saves in the win, while Gardiner’s Claire Crocker turned aside five shots.

FREEPORT 6 CAPE ELIZ. 12

The host Capers opened up their Western Maine Conference slate by doubling up the Falcons, who fell to 0-2 and hosts Yarmouth on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Lindsay Stewart had four goals to lead Cape Elizabeth (1-0), with Susie Graham adding three goals.

Chloe Davidson and Courtney Broderick tallied a pair of goals each for Freeport.
