BIDDEFORD — Host Biddeford broke open a close game with a five-run fourth inning and cruised to a 14-5 victory over Windham in an SMAA softball game at Doran Field Tuesday.

RBI hits by Brook Davis, Jocelyn Moody and Charlotte White paced the Tigers (7-1) offense in the fourth. The trio combined for seven hits, five RBIs and six runs in the game.

Kirsten Lebreux gave up four earned runs on five hits over seven innings for Biddeford. She struck out seven and walked two.

Olivia Mora belted a home run for Windham (6-2).

YORK 10, WELLS 9

WELLS — York scored the game-winning goal with 33 seconds remaining in regulation as the Wildcats downed Wells 10-9 in a WMC boys lacrosse game at Forbes Field Tuesday.

Tucker Fagan and Sam Desmarais scored three goals apiece for York (2-4), while Mark Engholm netted two.

Noah Pease and Ethan Marsh both tallied hat tricks for the Warriors (2-3). Courtland Austin added two goals and Chad Fitzpatrick one.

BIDDEFORD 4, PORTLAND 1

BIDDEFORD — Ashton Collins won a hard-fought match in No. 1 singles to help lead Biddeford to a 4-1 victory over visiting Portland in an SMAA boys tennis match Tuesday.

Collins topped Peter Barry 7-6 (4), 7-5 to earn one of the Tigers’ (5-3) four points. Ken Reyes and Brady Huot both won their respective singles matches in straight sets, while the No. 2 doubles team of Garren DeWitt and Zach Heffernan needed three sets to dispatch the Bulldogs’ (4-3) tandem of Dana Hinchliffe and Jack Kovareck.

Girls Tennis

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 5, KENNEBUNK 0

KENNEBUNK — Visiting North Yarmouth Academy didn’t drop a set in any of the five matches as the Panthers swept Kennebunk 5-0 in a WMC girls tennis match Tuesday.

Christianne Doane (No. 2 singles) and Hannah Ingham (No. 3 singles) were both able to win games to avoid 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in their respective matches, as was the Rams’ No. 2 doubles team of Grace Mastrangelo and Anna Kate Luddy.
