SACO — Gregory G. Davis, 66, of Saco, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford.

He was born in Lewiston on September 14, 1948, a son of Alan Davis and Martha Finks.

He graduated from Scarborough High School, Class of 1967.

Greg had many happy memories spending summers at his grandmother’s cottage on Long Island, Maine.

Greg married his childhood sweetheart Pamela on July 13, 1968.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972, sailing on the USS WASP.

Greg started his career with Shaw’s in 1972 as a grocery clerk and was very proud to become assistant store manager, retiring in 2004.

His hobbies included working around the house and on his computer. Most of all, he adored his three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and by one brother, Eddy Finks.

He is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Pamela (Estes) Davis; one son, Robert Davis and his wife Lori of Saco; one daughter, Billie- Jean Steere and her husband Michael of Hope; and three grandchildren, Emma Rose, Jack and Gavin. He is also survived by: three siblings, Janet Etheridge, Ricky Davis and John Davis and close friend Milton Mitchell.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at noon on Friday, June 12 at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
