Free jazz concerts at Inn by the Sea
The Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth is hosting free jazz concerts on the lawn this summer.
The concert series, which is free and open to the public, will kick off Sunday, July 5, at 5:30 p.m. with traditional Cuban music from the Primo Band. The rain date is Monday, July 6.
Attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs. A cash bar will be available, as well as hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers.
Also performing this summer will be Carte Blanche on Aug. 9, and the New England Quintet on Monday, Sept. 7. Call 799-3134 for more information.
Volunteers needed for Beach to Beacon
Sign up now to help out with this year’s TD Beach to Beacon 10K road race, which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, in Cape Elizabeth. The race kicks off at 8 a.m. and there are many ways to volunteer, from manning a watering station to assisting with registration to directing parking.
Volunteers come from all over the country, as well as locally, and there are now special requirements. Each year more than 800 volunteers are needed to ensure the event goes off without a hitch. See www.beach2beacon.org/volunteer to sign up or for more information.
Land trust photo contest announced
Submissions for this year’s Cape Elizabeth Land Trust photo contest are due no later than Aug. 15. The land trust is looking for photos that “celebrate Cape Elizabeth’s living landscapes and the connection between people and the natural environment.”
All photographs should represent natural areas, agricultural lands, or preserved lands in town. Winners will be announced later this summer. See www.capelandtrust.org for more information.
Summer library hours in effect

Church to host annual yard sale
The Cape Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene will hold its fifth annual Donation Yard Sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. Anyone can donate items to the sale, which will be sold on a set-your-own-price basis.
