TOPSHAM — Three pitchers combined on a five-hitter as Rogers Post of New Auburn downed Highland Green, 9-1, on Friday in American Legion Zone II baseball action at Mt. Ararat High School.

Rogers Post (5-3) scored three runs in the third and four more in the fourth to take control. Evan Raymond doubled and singled, while Mickey Lawrence and Grant Hartley each doubled.

On the mound, Jared Plourde, Damien St. Pierre and Hartley combined on eight strikeouts and five walks in the win.

Cam Cox reached base twice via walks and drove in Highland Green’s (3-5) lone run with a sacrifice fly. Harper Moutal, Brendan Emmons ( run scored), Dylan-Earl Johnson, Kevin Carter and Griffin Stockford each singled.

Jacob O’Neill and Moutal combined on the mound effort with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Highland Green visits Bessey Motors (Oxford) today at 5:45 p.m.

Sebastian Lombardi drove in the winning run in the seventh inning to give Franklin County a 4-3 win over Brunswick at Farmington on Friday.

Amos Herrin scored the winning run and picked up the mound victory. He relieved starter Evan Roberts in the seventh and retired the only batter he faced. Herrin had a pair of hits, with Jake Davenport, Ryan Pratt and Thomas Wing also singling twice.

Brunswick (2-6) catcher Zach Meggison had four hits, including a double, and John Parker went the distance on the mound.

Brunswick is slated to head to Bethel to take on Locke Mills today at 5:45 p.m.
