BRUNSWICK — Kevin Joseph has announced that the Summer Junior Golf Camp slated for August will be held Aug. 10-12 at Mere Creek Golf Course.
The first two days are full days, with the third and final session a half day.
The mission for the Junior Golf Camp is to provide a fun, positive environment so the young golfers have a place to learn and improve their skills, through instruction, practice and a variety of health conscious games and activities. Joseph is committed to growing junior golf in the Brunswick area by bringing excitement to the kids and their overall enjoyment of the game.
The cost is $150 and is for golfers ranging in age from 8-16. Students need to arrive each day by 9:30 a.m., with the first two days finishing by 4 p.m.
Players are asked to bring their own clubs, though there are clubs available if notice is given in advance.
Students will be given instruction, play a series of golfrelated games, team competitions and exercises. There will be a strong focus on the fundamentals and knowledge of the game. Camp emphasis will center around putting, chipping, pitching, bunker and full swing, along with posture, grip, swing and alignment. Also, general knowledge of the rules, etiquette, golf course and history of the game will be included in the lesson plans.
Lunch and snacks will be provided.
