BRUNSWICK — Louise C. LeBel, age 83, died peacefully on Aug. 3, 2015 with her family by her side.

She was born in Brunswick, on Nov. 20, 1931, the daughter of Alcide and Aurora Desrosier Bernier.

On May 31, 1950 she married Eddie J LeBel Jr. at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick.

The couple lived in the Brunswick- Topsham area their entire lives, but for a brief residence in Savannah, Georgia, when Eddie’s unit was called up during the Korean conflict. In 1982 Eddie and Louise built their dream home on the ocean at Prince’s Point. Louise and Eddie enjoyed their life there together until his death in 2007. Louise then moved to Coastal Estates II in Brunswick and later to Sunnybrook Village, which became her home for the last three years of her life.

Louise was well known in the Brunswick community. She started working in Brunswick managing Caroll Cut Rate drug store on Maine Street in Brunswick, later she was a manager at Value House (later Service Merchandise) for over twenty years, finishing her working career at Berrie’s Opticians in Brunswick, fitting many people with glasses during her time there.

Louise was a devout wife, mother and grandmother and fierce advocate for her family. She also had a great love for her dogs Lady and Posie.

Surviving is her two daughters and their families, Kathleen Nees and her husband Brian of Litchfield, and Pamela Desjardins and her husband Paul from Harpswell. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryan R Jones of Topsham, Maine, Tyler Maiura of El Cajoun, California, and Kaitlyn Jones of Litchfield, Maine, and the light of her eye, her great granddaughter, Jayden Grace Barber of Litchfield, Maine.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Eddie, brother Bob Bernier, parents and numerous extended family and friends, predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s the Baptist Church- All Saints Parish Pleasant St. Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to St. John’s Parochial School, 37 Pleasant St. Brunswick, Maine 04011 or CHANS Hospice, 45 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick, Maine 04011.
