SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The University of New England women’s volleyball team was picked to finish fifth out of nine teams in the CCC Preseason Poll, which was announced Tuesday.
Six-time reigning conference champion Roger Williams University is favored to repeat, totaling four firstplace votes and 76 points. Salve Regina University (69 points) took second in the list with three first-place picks. Western New England University (65) and Endicott College (59) each garnered one vote in the top spot, and UNE rounded out the top five with 42 points.
The Nor’easters went 11- 16 overall last season, with a 4-4 record in CCC action that marked a ninth consecutive campaign with a league winning percentage of .500 or greater.
UNE kicks off its CCC slate on September 23 on the road against Wentworth Institute of Technology.
