Donald L. Hazen, age 73, passed into eternal rest on Aug. 29, 2015, at his home in South Carolina, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Needles, California, son of the late Lawrence H. Hazen and E. Vivian Griffin.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia (Frontz) Hazen; his daughter Deborah Marczewski and sonin law Bill; daughter Janet Rousseau and son-inlaw Mitchell; his grandchildren Jessica, Megan and Ryan. His was most proud of his great-grandson Jackson. His brothers Wendell Hazen, John Griffin, and his sisters Barbara Pickner, Sandy Byers.

He spent the majority of his life, 40 years, living in Brunswick, Maine. Don proudly retired after 21 years from the U.S. Navy. He worked at True Value and then L.L. Bean for 24 years thereafter. He was a member of the VFW post 10804, the American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. Don had a smile that could light up a room and his positive outlook was infectious. A celebration of life will be held at The Brunswick Inn, 165 Park Row in Brunswick, on Friday, Oct. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. Inurement to be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Donald.
