A 26-year-old Buxton woman was killed after she was thrown from her car in a crash on Route 112 in Saco Wednesday.

Shannan Carrier was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima sedan west near Thibodeau’s Dairy when her car crossed the center line and collided with a 2008 Honda Ridgeline pickup.

The pickup was driven by a 48-year-old Standish man who has not been identified by police, pending notification of his family. Police said he was taken to Maine Medical Center but they had no update on his condition.

Police would not say what caused the crash, saying they wanted to complete an accident reconstruction first. A press release issued by the department by said investigators believe both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The reconstruction teams from Saco and Biddeford were still at the scene at 5 p.m.

The crash happened at 11:40 a.m. in the 400 block of Route 112, also called Buxton Road. That section of Route 112 in Saco was closed most of Wednesday afternoon.
