GORHAM — Thornton Academy’s girls and boys indoor track teams finished in first place in their meet against Deering, Noble and Massabesic. The girls finished with 147 points while the boys earned 154 points.
Girls
Massabesic’s teams finished fourth, with the girls earning 51 points and the boys finishing with 13.
Massabesic’s Logan Champlin finished first in the girls 200 meter dash in the junior division with a time of 29.12.
Thornton Academy’s Annie Duong completed the girls 800 meter run in the junior division at 2:46.09, which was also good for first place.
Thornton’s Noelle Boudreau came in first in the girls triple jump at 31-06.
Thornton’s Emily Camire also placed first in shot put at 25-10.75.
The Trojans also had success in the senior division, with Olivia Libby finishing first in the girls 55 meter hurdles at 9.52 and teammate Samantha Dow finishing in second at 9.90.
Libby also finished first in the girls long jump while Dow finished in second as well.
Massabesic’s Moriah Biener won the girls high jump at 5-03.
Libby then won the girls triple jump at 32:08.50, while teammate Amanda Cyr finished second and Massabesic’s Ashley Russell placed third.
Thornton’s Samantha Curran placed first in shot put at 38-02.25, while teammate Isabella Capozzi finished second.
Thornton and Massabesic made up the top five in the 600 meter dash, with Thornton’s Duong finishing first, Savannah Bouchard second, Massabesic’s Abigal Theobald third, Massabesic’s Anna Lane fourth and Massabesic’s Emma Cost fifth.
Thornton’s Katie LeBlanc finished first in the 1 mile run at 5:57.99, while Massabesic’s Roshelle Morrison placed second and her teammate Madison Bantz finishing third.
Morrsion also placed first in the 2 mile run at 13:19.07.
Thornton won the girls 3,200 relay at 4:28.47.
Thornton’s Maria Seneres placed first in the girls pole vault at 7-06.
Boys
Thornton Academy also dominated in the boys division.
Thornton’s Tucker Weeks finished first in the 55 meter dash at 7.03 in the junior division.
Thornton’s Noah Edborg placed first in the 200 meter dash at 24.91.
Weeks also finished first in the 400 meter dash at 54.74.
Thornton’s Thomas Palmer finished first in the 55 meter hurdles while teammate Travis Snyder finished second.
Snyder also placed first in the boys high jump at 5-02.00.
In the senior division, Alex Arnold from Thornton placed first at 6.83.
Thornton’s Keegan Fowler finished first in the long jump while Arnold placed second.
Kyle Holman from Thornton earned first place in shot put at 43-06.50 while teammate Connor Hayward finished in second.
Thornton won the 800 meter relay at 1:38.77, while Massabesic finished first in the 3,200 relay at 4:23.18.
Thornton’s Snyder placed first in the pole vault while teammate Palmer placed second.
Biddeford takes third in quad-meet
The Biddeford girls and boys indoor track teams finished third in their meet against Marshwood, Westbrook and Scarborough.
The girls finished with 76.5 points, while the boys collected 79 points.
Biddeford’s Leia Dorais finished first in the girls 800 meter run at 2:37.16 while Scott Spellman won the boys 55 meter dash at 7.25.
Biddeford’s Matt Brady placed first in shot put at 46-07.50.
Biddeford finished first in the boys 3,200 meter relay at 10:56.67.
