McCrum is joined by Portland running back Joe Esposito and Brunswick running back Will Bessey as finalists for the award, which is given to the state’s best senior.
The TA standout, who will head to Division I Lafayette College to play quarterback in the fall, put together an incredible senior campaign. McCrum threw for 1,956 yards and 20 touchdowns, while also adding 358 rushing yards and four scores.
McCrum was also a key reason why the Trojans beat Portland to win their second straight state title. The QB threw for 137 yards and ran for 78 more, including a pivotal fourth-quarter TD run as TA pulled away for the win.
Esposito, who was on the losing end of TA’s state championship, ran for 1,606 yards and 28 touchdowns to help the Bulldogs win the Class A North title.
Bessey, who helped Brunswick win the Class B North crown, finished the year with 1,569 rushing yards and 20 scores.
The award will be announced on Jan 24 during the annual banquet.
