BIDDEFORD — Lucille Croteau-Lavoie, 86, of Biddeford, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born April 8, 1929, in Biddeford, a daughter of Oscar and Aurore (Fillion) Descoteaux, and was educated in Biddeford. Lucille attended and graduated from Coaticook High School in Coaticook, P.Q., Canada.

On April 10, 1948, she married Roland M. Croteau in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford; he passed away Aug. 29, 1977.

She had been employed at Pepperell Manufacturing Co. for 25 years, and for 15 years, she was employed at Biddeford Textile.

On May 11, 1991, she married Arthur A. Lavoie in St. Joseph’s Church.

She volunteered for many years in the canteen at Westbrook Skating Rink. She enjoyed walking, reading and dining out with friends. In her retirement, she worked for 17 years at Funtown theme park in Saco, where she could be found working the Teacup Ride.

Besides her first husband, Roland, she was predeceased by her second husband, Arthur, in 2006. She was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Lucien Descoteaux, and a sister, Georgette Descoteaux.

Surviving are: one son, Norman L. Croteau of Saco; one granddaughter, Michelle Martel and her husband Raymond of Biddeford; two great-grandchildren, Jamie Little and Michael Martel; three great-great grandchildren, Adrianna, Deshawn and Jada Little; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2015, at St. Anne’s Chapel in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.
