She was born on Aug. 22, 1942, in Eastport, Maine, the daughter of Lewis and Millicent McPhail.
Betty was raised and educated in Perry, Maine. In 1965 she married the love of her life, Raymond Moore. They enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage together. They raised five children and lived many years in Eastport before moving to Richmond so Raymond could take a job at Bath Iron Works. Shortly after settling in Richmond, Betty started her own daycare that she ran successfully for over 20 years.
Betty loved playing the slot machines and taking trips to Oxford Casino, Hollywood Slots, and Foxwoods with her family. Her family was her life. She especially loved caring for her own grandchildren at her daycare.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond
Moore.
She is survived by her children Greg, Jeff, Debra, Kimmy and Dianna; many wonderful grandchildren, and special great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services at this time, however, a graveside service will be announced later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice House at Androscoggin Homecare and Hospice, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn, ME 04210.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
