TOPSHAM — Mary Elizabeth LaMotte, 78, of The Highlands, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. She was born in Bethesda, MD, on March 9, 1938, the daughter of David J. and Gertrude (Jones) Williams.

She graduated from The Punahou School in Hawaii in 1956 and received her associate’s degree from Mt. Vernon Jr. College in Washington, D.C. On Feb. 6, 1960, she married Ferdinand LaMotte IV. He died on Aug. 8, 2008. Mrs. LaMotte worked in a variety of job locations, mostly in the hospitality industry.

She enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She was a member of the chorale group at The Highlands and was on the Kingfield POPS Festival of the Arts board for several years.

Surviving are a daughter Danielle London and her husband Barry of Carrabassett Valley, a son Ferdinand Williams LaMotte and his wife Monika of Andover, VT, a brother David E. Williams and his wife Anna of Olga, WA, four grandchildren Rebecca and William London of Carrabassett Valley, and Isabelle and Hayden LaMotte of Andover, VT, and a niece and two nephews.

A private family service will be held with a celebration of life later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kingfield POPS, P.O.
