Step into history this summer and help visitors explore the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in South Portland, one of Maine’s unique and best-loved landmarks.

The historic lighthouse is open for guided tours during summer weekends, for scheduled group tours throughout the year and for other special occasions.
An all-volunteer trust committed to preserving the lighthouse is now seeking docents, tour guides, shopkeepers and behind-the-scenes assistants to make the lighthouse’s 119th year guiding ships into Portland Harbor educational and fun.
Experience is not required.

Training, along with an in-depth tour of all four levels of the lighthouse, will be provided. Assistant lighthouse keepers can also stay on shore and provide visitors with information on the rich maritime culture of Casco Bay.

See www.springpointlight.org or contact Kathy at 699-2676 for an application and more information.
