FALMOUTH — Secondseeded Falmouth jumped out early and rolled to a 9-2 Class A South boys high school quarterfinal win over South Portland/Freeport/ Waynflete on Tuesday at the Falmouth Family Ice Center.
The Red Riots’ season closed at 5-12-2, while the Yachtsmen will take on No. 3 Thornton Academy on Saturday at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston.
Chris Camelio led Falmouth (15-4) with three goals and a pair of assists, and Robbie Armitage added a goal and five assists.
Mitchell Adams had a short-handed goal in the first period for South Portland/ Freeport/Waynflete, the No. 7 seed.
Spencer Pierce had nine saves for the Yachtsmen. Joe Grant stopped 45 shots for the Red Riots.
