BRIDGTON – John T. Dillon, 54, of Freeport, died March 7, at his family home on Moose Pond in Bridgton with his daughters, parents, brothers and sisters by his side.

He was born in Buffalo, New York, on June 9, 1961, to James M. and Susan (Ray) Dillon and attended local schools. In 1977, his family moved to Providence, Rhode Island, where he graduated from The Wheeler School. After two years at the University of Vermont, Dillon transferred to Skidmore College, where he studied photography and graduated in 1983.

He worked for over 25 years as a professional photographer, first with Macomber Inc. of Portland, most recently with Johnny’s Selected Seeds of Winslow.

Dillon loved the outdoors, especially hiking, paddling, cycling and grouse hunting. He enjoyed participating in the Maine Outdoor Adventure Club, where he developed many lasting friendships. He was a communicant of St. Jude Catholic Church in Freeport. Dillon was a loving father, caring son and loyal brother to his six siblings. His family and friends will miss his kindness and his quiet, observant and loving nature.

He was predeceased by his younger brother, Edward Vincent “Teddy” Dillon.

He is survived by two daughters, Erin E. Dillon, of Portland and Brina M. Dillon, of Boston, Massachusetts; his parents, James and Susan Dillon, of Naples, Florida; three brothers, Timothy Dillon, of Westford, Massachusetts, Brian Dillon, of Medway, Massachusetts, and James Dillon Jr., of Hopkinton, Rhode Island; three sisters, Katharine Hufstader, of Avon, Connecticut, Anne Haynes, of East Providence, Rhode Island, and Molly Brabham, of Round Rock, Texas, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held March 11, Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church in Freeport March 12. Burial will take place this spring in Bridgton.
