LISBON — George W. “Pork” Bubar, 73, of Lisbon Maine died at home on March 30th, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 19th, 1943 in Fort Fairfield, Maine to parents George and Freda (White) Bubar.

For 30 years he worked at BIW as a pipe coverer.

George enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to hunt, fish and Camp. He especially loved his family, attending family gatherings, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Edward; a brother-in-law, Reinald Gervais; and two nephews.

George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon; his children Wendell R. Bubar, Marc P. Bubar and his wife Robin, and Dave Bubar and his wife Jamie;a sister, Sandra Gervais; Sister-in-law Ann Marie Bubar; brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy (Roger) Currie, Jim and Liz Orser, Carolyn (late husband Dr. John) Roberts, Jill (Bob) Shaw; Cath (Gail) Orser; grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron, Marcus, Allison, Wyatt, Owen, Heather, Chelsey; and a great granddaughter, Lillyanna; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Don and Shirley Pherigo.

A celebration of life will take place from 1 to 5pm on April 9th, 2016 at the Slovak Club, 26 Avery St. in Lisbon Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Dept. of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Statehouse Station #41 Augusta Maine, 04330.
