SACO — Elizabeth Anne Hart, 67, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Southern Maine Health Care with her husband by her side.

She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on Sept. 2, 1948, the daughter of Dr. Joseph and Alice Nash Wittig.

She graduated in 1966 from West Warwick High School, and in 1970 from University of Rhode Island with a degree in psychology.

Beth was employed for many years as a special education aide when she lived in New London, New Hampshire, and served as president of the New London Outing Club.

In Maine, she worked at Bosal Foam and Fabric in Scarborough, where her love for upholstering and sewing was a wonderful asset to the clientele; she was always so friendly and helpful. She enjoyed playing tennis and shopping.

Beth is survived by: her husband of 46 years, John Hart; two daughters, Erika and her husband Keith Almquist of Tequesta, Florida, and Jill Hart and her daughter Aubrey Williams of Hobe Sound, Florida; a brother, Robert and his wife Linda Wittig of Pleasanton, California; a sister-in-law, Janice Hart of Middletown, Rhode Island; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23. A service will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Dr. Rev. Burton Howe officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deering Park Section.

A memorial service will be held this summer at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Warwick, Rhode Island.
