At last week’s “Maker Monday” at Dyer Elementary School in South Portland, locals Michaela Donahue and Patrick Libby shared their talent for and knowledge of crochet with the school community. Students had a great time learning and asking questions about design, color and how to get started on their own projects. Dyer has opened a new Fab Lab and maker space for its K-6 students, which promotes project-based, student-directed exploration and experiences. Local artisans interested in volunteering their time at the Fab Lab should go online to www.dyerelementary.wordpress.com for more information.
