
She was born Feb. 12, 1940, in Biddeford, a daughter of Lionel and Evelyn (Martin) Parenteau. She was educated at St. Andre’s School, and graduated from St. Andre’s High School.
On October 10, 1959, she married Joseph Beal in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
She worked at Components Inc. in Kennebunk, John Roberts and Biddeford Textile in Biddeford and First Pay in Scarborough, where she was a payroll processor.
Jeanne had been a member of the former St. Mary’s Church, now Good Shepherd Parish. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
She was devoted to her family, and loved family activities.
Jeanne was preceded in death by: Joseph, her husband of 50 years, on Aug. 23, 2010; and a brother, Robert Parenteau, on May 30, 2008.
She is survived by: two daughters, Catherine Lacourse and her husband Pierre of Lyman, and Diane Verville of Hollis; a son, James Beal of Biddeford; a brother, Jack Parenteau and his wife Bonnie of Windham, New Hampshire; a sister, Margie Gross of Camden; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Springvale.
