Caroline G. Beckjord passed away on April 16, 2016, surrounded by loved ones, in Brunswick, ME.
A graduate of Vassar College (1953), she completed a MA in English at Carnegie- Mellon (1968) and taught at George Washington U. Later she earned a MS in Counseling Psychology from Benedictine U (1986), trained at the Inst. of Mental Health in Washington (1988-90), and practiced at the Center for Mental Health in Anacostia and at the Capitol Hill Clinic (1986-1996).
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Eric, of Brunswick, and their children, Suprabha of Washington DC, Charles (Nora) of St. Paul, MN and Sarah (Álvaro Aramburu) of Brookline, MA as well as grandchildren Tomás and Lucas. Their son Rick died previously.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Parish Church, 9 Cleaveland St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
