BRUNSWICK
Brunswick police summonsed the driver of a car that struck a bicyclist on Federal Street Friday afternoon.
Police were called to the incident at 3:02 p.m. Friday.
Brunswick Police Cmdr. Marc Hagan said Gary Babine, 71, of Brunswick was driving a 1999 Ford passenger car east on Green Street. As he was turning left from Green Street onto Federal Street, he hit a bicycle traveling north down the hill on Federal Street.
The bicyclist, Matthea Daughtry, 29, of Brunswick, was wearing a helmet. Hagan said she sustained a leg injury but was not transported to a hospital. Daughtry serves in the Maine House of Representatives, Brunswick 49th District.
Babine was issued a summons charging him with failing to yield at a stop sign.
