Bonny Eagle High SchoolClasses at Bonny Eagle High School in Standish were canceled Tuesday after vandalism was discovered in the building.

A press release Tuesday from School Administrative District 6 said Bill Ellis, facilities manager, notified Superintendent Frank Sherburne of the vandalism. Entry into the high school was gained through a roof hatch in the new wing.

The release said vandalism began in the teachers’ room in the wing. Refrigerator contents were dumped out and smashed on the floor.

“The individual(s) then moved to the third floor of the old building and released fire extinguishers from the third floor to the first in the stairwell on the Saco River Road side of the building,” the report said.

Also, vending machines in the cafeteria were damaged and the contents were dumped and smashed in hallways and the cafeteria.

The report said nothing appeared stolen and that the alarm system activated when whoever was responsible entered the hallway from the new wing’s teachers’ room. It was expected to take all day for cleanup.
