TOPSHAM
Topsham selectmen tonight will consider two requests related to the Maine Department of Transportation’s plan to replace the Frank J. Wood “Green” Bridge between Topsham and Brunswick.
The board will consider taking action on the MDOT’s proposal for replacing the 84-year-old bridge. At a previous meeting, the board was asked to pass a resolution supporting the replacement and was urged by some residents to hold off until there is more information.
Selectmen will also consider appointing members to a joint Topsham-Brunswick Design Advisory Committee for the new bridge.
Also tonight, selectmen will also consider allowing the fire department to spend $5,500 on protective equipment; appointments to the Midcoast Economic Development District Board of Directors; changing traffic calming methods on Green Street; approving labor contracts with the IAMAW Supervisory and Operations union; and will review current town hours.
Early in the meeting selectmen will hear a presentation on the tree harvesting process taking place at the solid waste facility next fall and winter.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the municipal building at 100 Main St.
