The Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department has announced several programs for the summer.

Dragons Basketball

This camp will be held at Brunswick High School July 18-22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dragon boys varsity coach Todd Hanson and several of his players and coaching staff will run this camp, which focuses on fundamental skill development. Emphasis will be placed on safety, fun and skill development, and campers will take part in a pair of games against Lewiston (one home, one away).

Participants need to being their own lunch, drinks and snacks.

The camp is for players entering grades 4-9 (Fall 2016) and costs $95 for residents and $ 127 for nonresidents. There will be before and after care available for an extra fee (8-9 a.m., 4-5 p.m.).

Monday Night field hockey

Beginning this upcoming Monday, Brunswick High School coach Karin Iuzzolino Paquin and her Dragon players will run this camp at Brunswick Junior High School from 5-6 p.m.

There will be four days of play for campers — July 18, July 25 and July 27, and costs $20 for residents and $26 for non-residents.

This camp is for participants from 5-years-old to those entering second grade in the Fall. Harrow Sports and USA Field Hockey will provide equipment to use.

The cost of the program includes a T-shirt.

Youth field hockey

From August 22-26 at Brunswick Junior High School, Iuzzolino-Paquin, along with Joan Iuzzolino and Carrie Sullivan, will run players in grades kindergarten to eighth through a camp that runs from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The cost is $35 for residents,

$45 for non-residents, with the camp an introduction to the game of field hockey, along with skill enhancement and for those looking to warm-up prior to the start of the season.

A T-shirt will be provided, with Harrow Sports and USA Field Hockey providing the equipment.

Players need to bring shin guards, a mouth guard, water bottle and sneakers.

Golf for Kids

Mt. Ararat High School coach Gerry Caron is scheduled to run a camp at Highland Green in Topsham beginning on Tuesday and running for four weeks.

Each class is limited to 12 golfers, so early registration is strongly encouraged.

Caron will teach players the fundamentals of golf, including the grip, stance, iron play, chipping, putting and golf etiquette.

The cost is $66 for Brunswick residents, $88 for non-residents, and runs each day from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
