OCEAN PARK — Patricia V. Gray, 93, of Ocean Park, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at Southridge Living Center, Biddeford.

She was born in North Jay on Jan. 7, 1923, the daughter of Pietro and Esolina (Scalettie) Vangelli. She attended schools in North Jay, and graduated from Stonington High School.

Patricia married James Gray Jr. in 1942. They settled in Stonington, where Patricia drove a school bus and cooked professionally. She was truly a “good cook,” demonstrating expert skill in whatever kitchen she found herself in. She also enjoyed gardening.

Around 1970, Patricia and James moved to Saco, and she worked for Corning for 15 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, they moved to The Pines at Ocean Park.

She was preceded in death by James, her husband of 52 years, in 1994, and by her two brothers, Emelio and Pete Vangelli.

She is survived by: two children, Michael Gray and his wife Mary Lou of Saco, and Rosemary Pelletier and her husband Wayne of Bangor; three grandchildren, Stephen Gray of Biddeford, Scott Pelletier and his wife Wendy of Carmel, and James and his wife Julie of Holden; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Reece, Dominick and Robby.

Patricia’s family would like to thank the staff of Southridge Living Center and Compasses Hospice for the care and compassion she received while under their care.

Interment will be private at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricia’s memory to: Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094.

Arrangements are under the care of Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. Please visit cotefuneralhome.com to view Patricia’s online tribute page and to sign her guestbook.
