SACO — A Maine state trooper from Lyman is on paid administrative leave after a Sept. 3 arrest in Saco stemming from at least one charge of criminal mischief.
Saco Deputy Police Chief Corey Huntress said Michael Lane, 27, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief at 2 a.m. last Saturday in the vicinity of Elijah James Drive.
Huntress did not release any further information on the arrest, stating it was part of an ongoing investigation.
Maine Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland confirmed that Lane, a state trooper for Troop A covering York County, has been on paid administrative leave since his arrest.
Lane is scheduled to appear at Biddeford District Court on Oct. 5, according to Huntress.
Criminal mischief is a Class D crime that is punishable by up to 364 days of incarceration and a $2,000 fine.
