It took months and hours of patient waiting for Scarborough wildlife photographer Marc Lausier to get these shots of a bald eagle nesting near Ferry Beach on Prouts Neck in Scarborough. Lausier, who is best known around town for his photos of piping plovers taken at Western Beach, said he visited the eagle nest and surrounding areas “about three to four dozen times (before) finally photographing the big bird. Wildlife photography requires extreme patience, but persistence eventually yields a reward. The shots took nearly a year to get, and at 67, I was like a kid at Christmas. To say it was exhilarating would be an understatement.”

Local wildlife photographer Marc Lausier believes the bald eagle spotted on Prouts Neck is attracted to the area by the easy access to marshes and rivers.
