BRUNSWICK — Brunswick’s United Lodge No. 8 of Masons is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from the Class of 2017 at both Mt. Ararat and Brunswick high schools.
Details on applying may be obtained from the schools’ guidance offices and the deadline is March 17 of 2017.
Criteria to be considered are grade point average of at least B- in either a vocational/ technical or college preparatory curriculum, students must be continuing on to an accredited post high school education (traditional college or VocTech), service to the community and life plans which include service. These criteria represent the basic principles of Masonry — service to community and human kind.
Students are asked to submit a letter to United Lodge Scholarship Committee via the school guidance office describing civic involvement, service to community, education and life aspirations. Financial need and Masonic affiliation are not considered.
