Westbrook Mites had a long, hard day in Gorham on Saturday, Oct. 8.

The A team offense tried to get through the line but came up short from getting any points on the board. The defense worked together to get 37 tackles for the game, and four sacks. Tony Bongomin and Jayden Johnson were able to make 15 of those tackles. Cortlin Edgerly caught an interception and had a 15-yard run. The team had a hard time keeping Gorham from making the first downs, but tried their best. The final score was 18-0, Gorham.

The B Team also had a tough loss at Gorham, 28-0. Although the offense was able to have positive yards through out the day, Gorham’s defensive line was very strong. Ben Augustine was able to catch a 13-yard pass for a much needed first down, but they just couldn’t quite get into the End-Zone. On defense, the team was able to make 18 combined tackles, but had a hard time when Gorham went for the passing plays.

The Mites are going to work hard this week to get ready for our next game at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at their home field in Westbrook. The Pee Wee team will play immediately after. Please join us and cheer on the teams. Any middle school or high school players wearing their football jerseys will have free entry.
