Kimberly Allen versus Jerel Babcock; and to hear a variance request from Durham Leisure Holdings, LLC of 24 Leisure Lane seeking two additional camp sites and the length of stay allowed in the campsites at the year-round campground.

‘Rise Up Singing’

concert Friday

“Rise Up Singing,” a concert by Peter Blood and Annie Patterson, will be held Friday, Nov.18, at 7 p.m., at the Durham Friends Meetinghouse, 534 Quaker Meetinghouse Road.

Blood and Patterson are creators of the songbook, “Rise Up Singing.” They will be leading the audience in old favorites and many new ones.

craft fair Saturday

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary is hosting its first craft fair at the hall,1049 Rolyalsborough Road in Durham, Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be more than a dozen tables of items for sale, as well as baked goods.

Durham residents Paige Gelhar, Sydney Gelhar, Ellie Thornton and Gwenyth Thornton are among the dancers performing in Maine State Ballet’s 40th anniversary production of “The Nutcracker,” at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium Friday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Dec. 4. Tickets are priced at $21-66, and discounts are available for groups, seniors and children.

Gun raffle tickets on sale

Durham Fire & Rescue has launched its annual “30 Days – 30 Guns in November” gun raffle. The organization is again working with Johnson’s Sporting Goods. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from any member of the Durham Fire & Rescue Department. Those interested can stop by the station at 615 Hallowell Road or call 353-2473. Tickets can also be purchased at the Durham Get & Go at 697 Royalsborough Road. Sales are limited to 3,000 tickets, so the odds of winning are 1 in 100.

Snowmobilers

The Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club meets on the last Tuesday of each month from September to April. Meetings are held at the Durham Fire Station, 615 Hallowell Road in Durham, beginning at 7 p.m. The next meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 29. New members are always welcome. Community Lunch

Tuesday, Dec. 6

The next Community Lunch schedule is Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the First Congregational Church of Durham, 773 Royalsborough Road. Doors open at 11:30 and the meal is served at noon. The suggested donation for lunch is $2-$4, and all proceeds fund future lunches.

The general schedule is the first and third Tuesday of the month. The church, located at the intersection of routes 9 and 136, is handicapped accessible. Those interested in helping or who have questions can call Julie Wagoner at 353-9715.

Veterans who want to belong to an organization that supports other veterans, families and the community are welcome to join the Durham AMVETS Post 13. The group meets the first and third Monday of the month, unless it’s a holiday, at 7 p.m. For more information, call Chad Burke, 798-0956.

Women who are the wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister or granddaughter (18 or older) of a veteran are invited to join the Durham AMVET Post 13 Ladies Auxiliary. The group meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m., at the hall. For more information, call Melinda Doughty, 841-4095.

Weekly cribbage

The Durham Eureka Community Center, corner of Route 9 and Route 136, hosts cribbage every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-noon.

Rent Eureka Center

Food pantry

The Lisbon Area Christian Outreach (LACO) food pantry, which serves the towns of Durham, Bowdoin, and Lisbon Falls, is open Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m.-noon and Saturday from 8-10 a.m. The LACO Food Pantry is located at the Marion T. Morse School on School Street, Lisbon Falls. The parking lot is behind the Lisbon United Methodist Church, off Berry Avenue. There is also a free clothing bank.
