WOOLWICH CENTRAL SCHOOL'S 3RD GRADERS raised $1,077 towards their swim lessons. Each year all RSU1 third graders participate in a six-week session of swimming and water safety lessons at the Bath YMCA during the school day. Private donations and fundraising pays in full for this program. The WCS students collected pledges and then held a school dance-a-thon Nov. 9. Other schools in the district will be having their fundraising events in the next few weeks. Those who want to contribute should send donations to the RSU1 Frazier Metcalf Swim for Health Fund at 34 Wing Parkway, Bath, Maine 04530.
