TURNER — The Morse High School boys jayvee basketball squad was neck-and-neck with Leavitt at halftime of Tuesday’s game, eventually falling, 42-40.

The game was a strong defensive battle and tied 19- 19 at the break. Leavitt went on a quick run to take a three-point lead into the fourth quarter, but Morse battled back to even the score again with 16 seconds left. A desperation heave with 2.7 seconds left on the clock fell short.

Jarod Harper led the Shipbuilders with nine points, while Josh Doughty, Jack Harrington and Jackson Walker all had eight.
