The Maine Turnpike Authority has scheduled nighttime traffic stoppages on the Falmouth spur and at Exit 63 in Gray, to accommodate work on two turnpike projects.

There will be traffic stoppages on the Falmouth spur at the toll plaza between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights to allow workers to erect overhead signs as part of the conversion of the plaza to an open road toll plaza. The new plaza will allow E-Z Pass users to driver through the toll at highway speeds, while toll booths for drivers paying cash will remain on the right. The project is part of the turnpike authority’s overall plan to convert all of the toll plazas to open road toll plazas.

In Gray, there will be traffic stoppages on Wednesday and Thursday nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m at the Exit 63 interchange, while workers remove the old bridge across the turnpike. Stoppages could be as long as 25 minutes while structural steel is removed.

Work schedules are subject to change depending on weather. Drivers are encouraged to go to the turnpike authority’s website, Facebook and Twitter to look for changes.
