I am self-employed and, several times a year, I hire extra help. My small business creates jobs.

I also rely on health care under the current system. I feel strongly there is no good reason to repeal our health coverage as defined under the Affordable Care Act. I would like to see the ACA refined – not repealed.

“Repeal and replace” sounds like a terribly inefficient approach. Its only benefit is for those who stand to gain some temporary political capital with an inflamed base that does not understand, or seem to care, that absolutely no substitute plan has been developed or proposed.

We have already moved much too slowly toward adopting this type of coverage for all of our citizens. I ask that Sen. Susan Collins vote against repealing the Affordable Care Act. It is one of the things that still makes me proud to live in this country.
