Lisbon police are asking for the public’s help catching a person or persons vandalizing public and private property with graffiti.
Graffiti has been popping up all over town over the last couple of weeks, and Lisbon Police Chief Marc Hagan said.
On Wednesday, Hagan posted pictures of some of the graffiti on the department’s Facebook page. The post asks that for anyone with information to contact the department.
The graffiti has appeared in numerous locations ranging from the entrance to the walking path at the Sabattus River Bridge, the Mill Street area, the Farwell Mill area and the new Lisbon Durham Bridge on Canal Street.
“While we are not sure of the motives for this sudden outbreak, we know that the costs associated with the clean-up will fall squarely on to the residents of Lisbon if we can’t find the person(s) responsible for it,” the post states. “If you would all take a moment to look at the pictures you will note that most of the graffiti repeats a theme, with the letters KANO.”
Anyone with information that could help identity those responsible are asked to call the Lisbon Police Department at (207) 353-2500 and ask for Det. Sgt. Bill Tapley.
