The Westbrook American reported on Feb. 13, 1957, that three Boy Scout leaders from Gorham were among those honored at a Scouting dinner in Westbrook. They were Vincent Johnson, Troop 73; Alfred Mann, Troop 82; and Everett Verrill, Troop 85.

In Westbrook, Rudolph T. Greep, 51, became acting mill manager at S.D. Warren Company. He suceeded Everett Ingalls, who stepped down for health reasons but remained as director and president in charge of manufacturing
