BANGOR — Long-term resident of Westbrook, Maine. Dorothy passed away surrounded by love at home in Bangor on March 7, 2017 after a beautiful, full life. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday with all her family in December.

Born December 2nd, 1916, in Monticello, Maine to John Lynds Sr. and Zena Lockard Lynds, she was one of 13 children, and is predeceased by her 9 brothers and 3 sisters.

She grew up as a hardworker in the potato fields of Monticello—known for being the potato picking champion of Aroostook County. She continued to be a hard-worker when she moved to Westbrook, Maine in the early 50s and spent 27 years working at the S.D. Warren Mill. She enjoyed many activities and liked to stay busy decorating, gardening, sewing, playing Bingo, doing water aerobics, bowling, fishing and being the fashionista she was—she always enjoyed a good day of shopping. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook.

She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Claude S. Hansen. She is survived by her children: Lorraine Junkins of Bangor;

Beverly Harvie and Leonard Harvie of Sabattus; Dianne Corkum and Gordon Corkum of Palmetto, Florida.

Dorothy was predeceased by her step-daughter, Wilma Hansen Hovey and son-in-law, Earle Junkins. She is remembered and loved by her 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

We will greatly miss her sharp wit and sense of humor. She will be loved and missed by many as we have had many years of beautiful memories to cherish.
