OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Beatrice “Bea” Eramo, 80, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Kindred Living Center in Saco.

She was born in Biddeford on June 6, 1936, a daughter of Albert and Antoinnette (Cote) Fournier. She graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School, Class of 1955.

After high school, Beatrice worked in the communication industry. On Sept. 28, 1957, she married her husband Anthony. She took a break from the workforce to raise her family. The family cherishes their memories of her as a volunteer for Camp Fire Girls and Blue Birds, Sunday school teacher and Ski Club mom to name a few. When Beatrice went back to work, she was employed part-time at Libby Memorial Library and later full-time back in the communication industry for Verizon.

Bea enjoyed the beach, swimming and traveling. She also liked reading and making puzzles.

Mrs. Eramo was a parishioner of St. Margaret Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Maurice, and two sisters, Helen Corbeil and Claire Morneault.

She is survived by: her husband of 59 ½ years, Anthony M. Eramo of Old Orchard Beach; two daughters, Jacqueline Thurber and her husband, Arthur Jr., of Ellsworth, and Catherine Cyr and her husband, Scott, of Saco. She is also survived by: five grandchildren, Tiffany Fishburn and her husband, Jason, Roger Thurber, Nicole Thurber, Alison Cyr, and Patrick Cyr; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Marie and Alexis; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at St. Margaret Church in Old Orchard Beach. Burial will be at a later date in Blackpoint Cemetery in Scarborough.
