ARUNDEL — Pauline Johnson Drew, 90, of Arundel, died Monday night, March 20, 2017, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in North Kennebunkport, Maine, on Dec. 8, 1926, a daughter of Neil and Winona (Hayford) Johnson. She grew up in North Kennebunkport (Arundel), attending local schools.

On April 20, 1946, she married Maurice E. Drew. They enjoyed 57 years together until his death in 2003.

Pauline was a teacher’s aide at Mildred L. Day Elementary School in Arundel for over 20 years. She was a member of the Mother’s Club, and the Arundel Fireman’s Auxiliary.

Pauline loved raising farm animals (known for her “fat” cows), gardening, riding on her lawn mower, baking chocolate chip cookies, and helping children in any way that she could.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by: two sisters, Naomi Cyr and Florence “Pinky” Whitten; and an infant great-grandchild, Timothy “Sullivan” Bushey.

Pauline is survived by: two sons, Richard Drew and his wife, Karen Bundy, of Otisfield, Maine, and Kenneth Drew and spouse, Mark Pinkham, of Arundel; two sisters, Donna Dow of Kennebunk, and Juanita and her husband, Jesse Thurston, of Arundel; two grandchildren, Brittany Sullivan of South Paris, Maine, and Chelsea Talley of Norway, Maine; three great-grandchildren, Goldie Sullivan of South Paris, Darian Talley, and Delilah Mondesir of Norway. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Auntie “Po” and Grammy “Po” will be missed.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A graveside service at Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport will be held in the spring, with date and time to be announced.
