BRUNSWICK — News from Cuba and Cuban-U. S. relations is on the docket at an event April 22 at the Morrell Room of the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick. Leading the discussion will be John Waller who is national coordinator for the 2017 US – Cuba Friendshipment Caravan. Waller will focus on U.S. policies that fall short of the goal announced by former President Obama in 2014 of normalizing relations between the two countries. Waller will also explain the role of Pastors for Peace in making things right and talk about what Maine people can do.
The April 22 program begins at 5 p.m. Cuban food and refreshments will be available. Let Cuba Live will show the new documentary “All Guantanamo is Ours,” which condemns the U. S. hold on land bordering Guantanamo Bay Waller, secretary of the Seattle/Cuba Friendship Committee, will speak shortly after 6 p.m. A former health care worker, Waller has written about Cuba’s healthcare system. He formerly was a leader of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign in Great Britain.
